Bore water will be used for Mount Gambier's water supply again over the next few weeks.
SA Water is testing the bore capacity for when the Blue Lake is taken offline for upgrades of the pumping station next year.
Last time the bore testing took place, SA Water apologised to the community after failing to inform it.
SA Water's Andy McPharlin says bore water will be pumped into the system periodically and customers should not be disrupted.
"We hope they won't experience any noticeable difference at all," he said.
"The issues we had with dirty water were largely due to when we were running the whole supply on alternative source and that was stirring up some sediments in the pipes.
"I think for the very short time we're going to run each bore, they shouldn't notice that."
